Inflatable and Carnival Vendor Requirements

All inflatable and carnival vendors require the following:

A certificate of insurance naming MSU and Its Board of Trustees as the certificate holder as follows:

The certificate must include evidence of the following insurance:

  • Workers Compensation insurance, Coverage A, with limits statutorily required by any applicable Federal or state law and Employers Liability insurance, Coverage B, with minimum limit of $500,000 per accident.
  • Automobile Liability insurance covering liability arising out of any owned, hired, and non-owned vehicles with minimum limit of $1,000,000 each accident and Personal Injury Protection as required by statute.
  • Commercial General Liability insurance with a minimum limit of $1,000,000 each occurrence/$2,000,000 general aggregate. Coverage shall include bodily injury and property damage liability, personal and advertising injury liability, products/completed operations, and liability assumed under an insured contract. This insurance policy must be endorsed to name MSU and Its Board of Trustees as additional insured.

The vendor must deliver, set up and supervise all inflatables. (MSU staff and/or students are not to assist with any of these functions).

The contract must include the above mentioned insurance requirements as well as language that the vendor is responsible for delivery, set up and complete supervision.

The vendor must also agree that the following activities* are NOT options on MSU’s campus:

  • Sumo Wrestling
  • Bonzi Bikes
  • Ziplines
  • Climbing and/or Rock Walls
  • Mechanical Bulls
  • Bungee Jumping

*Prohibited activities are not limited to the list above. All activities are to be reviewed by the Office of Risk Management & Insurance in conjunction with multiple other departments prior to the event date.

In order to be an approved vendor, the vendor must provide a copy of their contract and a certificate of insurance that meets the above criteria. The Office of Risk Management and Insurance will review the documents provided and respond with an approval or with any recommended amendments. If the vendor is approved, they will be added to a list of approved vendors that is provided to MSU departments and student organizations that are interested in having inflatable/carnival events on campus.
